Migration from AngularJS to Angular (currently in version 9.0.0) started in June 2020 and is supposed to be finished during the autumn this year. A new version sequence 2.x has been created for publishing experimental releases with continuous development in Angular 9, whereas the 1.24.x releases are published as stable and are meant to be used until the final Angular 9 release is published.
